Pro Shop Report - March 12, 2008

Welcome all members to another golf season at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club. The winter months will soon be behind us, and we will be opening up the course for another busy season, as long as we get some true Lloydminster weather. The Pro Shop will open up for business April 1st, selling memberships, as well as green fee passes, and booking of corporate group activities.

The Pro Shop will have some new and exciting clothing lines such as Loft 8, Firethorn. Footjoy has come up with a new clothing line, as well as the number one shoe in Golf. As for equipment, I am happy to announce that my staff were awarded the Top Seller Award for 2007 from Taylor Made Golf. They will be back in full force again this season. Titliest will be making a long awaited return to the Pro Shop. It has been about ten years since we have had the equipment line in the shop, and I look forward to showing it to the people of Lloydminster. Joining them will be Ping, Cobra, as well as Adams Golf. If anyone would like to book club fittings, please feel free to call or email me anytime to get your new set of clubs.

Moving into my second season as the Head Professional, I look forward to seeing all the members returning to the Golf Course. We made some cosmetic changes again in the Pro Shop, and have made some slight changes in who you are going to see in the Pro Shop when you get here. I am happy to announce that Matt Komada from the Moon Lake Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon will be joining Marty Wheaton, and Jeff Graham behind the counter in the Pro Shop. Matt as well as Marty are now full CPGA members and will be offering lessons, as will I through out the season. Jeff will be going to the Play Ability Test early in the season, where he will try his luck in qualifying to be a fellow Professional. Also this season, all of the Pro’s will have a chance to play in a Competitive Golf Tournament at our home course, as the CPGA Championship of Saskatchewan will be making its way to Lloydminster in August.

On behalf of all my staff here in the Pro Shop, I would like to once again welcome you all back for the 2008 season, and look forward to having the opportunity to serveing the members of the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club. If there is anything we can do to make your season a little better, please do not hesitate to contact me.
